When I want to make bread, I add the liquid and butter to the pan, add my homemade dry mix, add yeast, then start. I've been using a similar West Bend machine since 1996 and still love it. The box is fairly large and weighs about 25 pounds.

I make 6 12 at a time. This particular machine is an estate sale find. Offer includes the machine, removable pan, mixing paddles, and original instruction book. This item is heavy and bulky.

I make the dough in a machine like this, then shape, rise, and bake the dough. 5 or 2 pound loaf. I baked a 1.

West Bend bread maker makes a traditional horizontal loaf. If you make a recipe for a 2 lb loaf, it would rise higher. The bread released easily from the pan as soon as I turned the pan over, and nothing stuck to the paddles. This one also has a pre heat cycle, so do not be alarmed if you press the start button and it doesn seem to do anything for 5 15 minutes.

I do not add a handling charge. Its easy to make fresh bread, and my family always asks me to bring rolls to the holiday meal. This model has more features than most other West Bend bread machines, including rapid cycles, whole wheat options, and extra rise time.

The machine didn make any unexpected noises as it made my test loaf. See resulting loaf in the pictures. The instruction book has turned edges and corners, and the front and back pages are taped on. The door opens and closes easily.

Use the machine to make bread or to make dough for pizza, rolls, or shaped breads. I don't think it has been used much, based on how clean it was when I found it and how easily the paddles turn. I get the 2 one pound bags at SAM's for much less than one small jar from the grocery store. I usually make this size, as it makes a nice sized sandwich.

This also has a delay timer, so you can time your bread to be done just before you wake up. It pretty fool proof if you follow the directions and pay attention to the temperature of liquids so you don't kill the yeast.
