It also let's you choose how course need the grounds. I have both a standard 12 cup coffee pot and french press that use primarily when make for just myself.

I love that this grinder will let you grind just what need to use, from 2 cups 12 of grounds at a time. For my french press, I need a courser grind and 12 cup pot, use more medium. I have found no negatives with this grinder.

You can also use its fineness selector to allow determine your preferred grind level, from very fine for espresso coarse french press example. The number of cups selector 2 to 12 will enable you adjust quantity ground coffee need for your brew.
