I compered the battery to motor and runs fine. Unfortunately, after installing the new battery, unit still refused to power on. It just does not receive power through the PCB. I learned that this is protection built into the battery.
I see no evidence of damage on the circuit board. It had not been removed from the box until this spring and by then it would power on. At this point, I am just trying to recoup some of the cost new battery. Made of durable stainless steel, it has a capacity 7 oz and is easy to use.
Someone with electrical component repair knowledge could probably figure out the problem. The coffee grinder is unused and the parts are as new. I purchased a new lithium battery which is 7.4v and 2200 MASH should have more reserve power than the original. This battery was 7.4v and 1500 MASH. Apparently, the lithium-ion battery had discharged completely and would not recharge.
Nothing appears burnt or discolored, so I don't know what the problem is with it.
